Over the past few hours, Iranian state media have continued to report false claims by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps - three in particular.

Claim 1: IRGC claims (again) that free and open passages through the Strait of Hormuz are dangerous for merchant ships Fact: The immediate dangers to merchant ships and their civilian crews are verbal threats and attempted IRGC attacks.

Second claim: The IRGC claims that three US F-35 stealth fighters and three other aircraft were destroyed during Iran's recent attack on a US airbase.

Fact: No US aircraft has been destroyed or damaged in recent Iranian attacks. All missiles and drones were intercepted or failed to reach the target areas.

Third claim: Iranian state media reports that a commercial tanker, the M/T Nora, has breached the US blockade.

Fact: This commercial ship could not pass through the steel wall of the American blockade. More than 20 US warships, hundreds of aircraft and thousands of troops remain on alert and continue to enforce the blockade.
