The United States, Iran and Oman have come close to a 60-day temporary agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and it is likely that this agreement will be announced by the United States on Wednesday.

The main provisions of the agreement: incoming ships from the northern route travel in Iranian waters. The outgoing ships will pass through the southern route in the waters of Oman and with the coordination of Iran. No tolls or fees will be charged for the passage of ships. Sea mines in the central route will be cleared within 30 days and then this route will be opened for two-way traffic. After this period, Oman and Iran will negotiate a permanent agreement.

Also, Qatar, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have played a role in mediation, and the White House has also directly participated in the negotiations.
