JD Vance: The Islamic Republic has not adhered to its obligations towards the United States
J.D. Vance, the US Vice President, said that the Islamic Republic has not fulfilled its commitments to the United States, and Donald Trump "will not be fooled by their lies."
Regarding America's goals in the conflict with the Islamic Republic, Vance said that Washington's primary goal is to maintain the flow of oil and gas from the Persian Gulf countries to the world market and prevent the increase in energy prices for American citizens.
He added that oil prices have now dropped significantly from their highest levels in the early days of the conflict and emphasized: "The number one goal is to keep oil and gas cheap for Americans across the country."
The vice president of the United States stated that the second goal is to prevent the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear weapons and said that he is confident that the United States is on the way to achieving both goals.
At the same time, Vance added that the situation is "inherently unpredictable" because the authorities of the Islamic Republic are also unpredictable and "sometimes they do not fulfill the obligations they have given to us."
