Pezeshkian: We had reached an agreement with Trump; the Strait of Hormuz was open at the time of the attack

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in an interview with Fox News that Tehran and Donald Trump's administration had previously reached an agreement, the framework of which had been accepted by both sides. Fox News described the agreement as a memorandum of understanding signed in June aimed at stopping hostilities and establishing a path of negotiations toward a broader deal.

Pezeshkian said: “We reached an agreement with your president. That agreement was signed, and based on it, we are still willing to continue along the designated path.”

He then claimed that the Strait of Hormuz was not closed when the attacks began, adding: “We had not closed the Strait of Hormuz; the strait was open. They attacked us without any justification or legal framework.”
