Najaf Airport halts Iranian flights; Mokhber: Flights are either open to everyone or to no one.

The director of Najaf Airport in Iraq announced that all Iranian flights to this airport have been halted since Friday in implementation of US sanctions against Iranian airlines.

Hussein Muhanna, director of Najaf Airport, announced this decision to Agence France-Presse. Najaf Airport is one of the main destinations for Iranian pilgrims. According to CBS News, several other countries in the region have also suspended flights by Iranian airlines in implementation of US sanctions.

Mohammad Mokhber, an adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader, wrote in response on the social media platform X: "Flights in the region are either open to everyone or to no one." He did not provide details about any action Iran might take.

The Iraqi government has not yet released a separate statement regarding this decision.
